CASTA Conference At Copper Mountain

This years CASTA conference was held at the beautiful Copper Mountain Resort, 75 miles West of Denver and surrounded by mountains! Great attendance and numerous vendors along with the CASTA board and Copper Mountain staff made this years conference a treat!

It was great to see so many there! There were numerous sessions, great food and lots of prizes for attendees! We would like to congratulate Karla Baird, Program Director for SUCAP Senior Center in Ignacio, CO for winning our iPod!

We hope to see you next year!

Easy Rides Tutorials On Demand!

Customer service is our top priority and we are always searching for new ways to assist our customers. It is for this reason Mobilitat now offers tutorials you can view when it’s convenient for you!

The videos are available here. All that is required from you is your Easy Rides login and password (call us if you don’t remember them). Each video is an easy to follow walk-through of a particular topic. View them as many times as you want with the ability to pause, fast-forward, rewind or stop as needed.

But wait there’s more!.. At least there will be. We’ll be adding videos on more topics regularly and as Easy Rides changes and grows. If you have a great idea for an Easy Rides tutorial let us know so we can add it to our selection!

Emergency Preparedness

Increasingly we find ourselves faced with nature’s fury throughout the country. Hurricanes, floods and other obstacles can cause major impacts to an agencies day-to-day operations. For this reason having a disaster contingency plan is imperative. We spoke this week with Glen Massie in Springfield OH. Their system is currently without electricity because of power outages caused by Tropical Depression Ike. Fortunately, they were prepared with backup generators to prevent service disruptions. They also keep backups of their Easy Rides Database on hand in the event of an emergency. This is good planning in case a disaster was to damage equipment or force them to relocate.

If an agency, for some reason had to relocate, as long as they had their data backed up on a thumb drive and access to an Internet connection, Mobilitat can get them back up and running in a matter of minutes. We know how stressful transit can be at the best of times and we are always ready to help keep your Easy Rides system up and running when disaster strikes.

Great Turnout for CTAA!

CTAA returned to New Orleans this year. It was great to see so many familiar faces along with many new faces! Our “Zoomies” were especially popular with the attendees and many entered our drawing for a free iPod. The winner of the iPod was William E. Osborne from Frederickstown, MO! Congratulations William! We’ll be shipping your iPod to you and thanks to all who entered! We would also like to give a special thank you to those that touted Easy Rides to other attendees! Your recommendations speak volumes!

While in New Orleans, we invited our customers to join us for a Wednesday night ghost tour and a good number of customers signed up. This was to be a two hour walking tour through the French Quarter visiting historical ghost sites. We had been told it was a ten minute walk from the Embassy Suites hotel where we were staying. In truth, it was more like a thirty minute, very brisk walk and by the time we arrived at the tour site (with our numbers somewhat reduced due to the long trek), it had gone without us. We made the most of it by stepping into the Orleans Grapevine Wine Bar & Bistro where we ordered food and drink and enjoyed each other’s company. Following that, some chose to further explore the French Quarter on their own while others began the arduous trip back to the hotel. All in all it was an exciting week!

CTAA 2009 is scheduled for May 30 – June 5 in Providence, Rhode Island. We hope to see you there!
